The Curse of Frankenstein is a very strong Hammer classic helping continue the studios justified reputation for leaders in the genre in the late 50's and 60's. Despite my reservation on the image quality - I thoroughly enjoyed the film experience - not as much as The Brides of Dracula , but still a great night in the home theater being wrapped in Hammer's cinematic horror cocoon. Fresh out from Scream Factory today in North America, is the collector's edition Blu-ray release of the 1967 film Frankenstein Created Woman. Helmed by Hammer Films' most well-known director Warner's DVD of The Curse of Frankenstein is a welcome disc that is a bit of a disappointment. Apparently the original elements have faded, muting many of the colors. Most of the drawing-room scenes are flat-lit and overly bright, and with so much density lost, overall the show is too light, with many of the delicate original hues reduced to salmon tones.

26/02/2016 · I have read there was some issues with the original print of Curse of Frankenstein and this has had a bearing on the blu-ray picture. The film itself is fantastic, in my book it doesn't get any better than Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Hammer films. Scream Factory releases a wonderful Collector’s Edition Blu-ray with solid video, and plenty of new and old features to check out. I definitely recommend picking this one up!
