As I walked out of the Sacrificial Blood Room, I came across what I consider the most spectacular view from Machu Picchu. Pictured here is what I consider an altar to the Apu Putucusi. The pyrimid shaped stone in the foreground is a direct duplicate of the Putucusi mountain in the background. What's interesting is that this photo was taken from a seated position on a flat granite slab which seemed to have been placed by the Inca for viewing and meditating to the apu Putukusi.
Local legend indicates that Putucusi is an access point for the higher frequency "Crystal City of Light". Putucusi is also known as the "Happy Mountain" by the Q'ero indians. The Q'ero indians are direct decendents of the Inca.
